For Breakfast I had a big bag of twiglets and a large tumbler filled with Whiskey. I then went back to bed and slept until about two. I then watched several episodes of Californication. I hate that mutherfucker Hank Moody although I quite possibly love him all at the same time, still, he's a bastard. Anyway, I also watched Morning Glory and Unknown, the former being standard fare, uninspiring performances, cliched situations and lazy writing but Harrison Ford is in it so it kind of had to be done. Rachel Mcadams looks like a girl I used to know, evil creature she was and so i find it hard to watch her without wanting to split her head open with a house brick. Unknown is better I guess although it's still a little aimless and drawn out and ultimately unsatisying but Liam Neeson is always watchable which makes this so. It isn't as good as Taken though. I do kind of want to see 'The Adjustment Bureau' although I think the competition for worst film title 2011 is over already.
I did also do a shift at the place where I work. I wasn't completely sober and yes I drove to work in that state. I don't feel good about the things that I do or the person that I am but if I can't be honest about these things writing one of these things when nobody is even reading it then when can I?
Arsenal drew 0-0 with Sunderland which made me almost happy for at least a few moments. The Miami Heat got destroyed last night by The San Antonio Spurs which just made me laugh, maybe Lebron will 'Decide' that he made the wrong 'Decision' after all???? Silly Lebron. Tomorrow is Scouse v Mancs in Scouseland. Prediction Liverpool 1-2 Manchester Utd.

Everything and nothing.
For a great many years people have been urging me to write a blog and for a great many years I have directly refused to do so. For starters I loathe the word 'blog', apparently a concoction of the words 'web' and 'log' which makes little sense to me given that Web log is just two letters more than blog anyhow. Anyhow, fuck it, I have finally given in for one reason more than any other and that is because I am a writer who is currently crippled beyond all recognition with the kind of fierce writers block that makes even imagining a situation where I will one day be able to actually write again very hard indeed. That is not to say that I cannot spout an obscene amount of bullshit, because I can, it is however to say that I cannot follow through with the level of dedication required to actually complete a novel. The characters begin sharply drawn and filled with hope (or filled with something anyway) but chapters in start to slowly die and melt into one another. So I try to start a new novel and the cycle repeats itself again and again and again. It's depressing and unfortunately for me I cannot see a way out of it. I get advice from the people around me, they say I should write about the things I love, write about the things I feel passionate about but you can't really write a fictional novel about Janeane Garofalo, Indian Food or high quality Scottish Whiskey now can you? Or maybe you can I don't know.
The important thing here is that I have absolutely no real plans on trying to get people to read this thing and no real plans even telling the people who might want to that it exists. I have no clue whether I will continue to write it even although I got to tell you that right now it's feeling pretty good so I reckon I'm good for a while at least. This is nothing but an escape from my own personal frustration for the duration of the time that I am writing it and if people want to read it then I guess I have no problem with that and if they don't then I have no problem with that either. I'll probably spend quite a bit of time waffling on about films and whiskey, whiskey and films, bit of sports maybe, I like all sports. If I turn the television on and am faced with sports, no matter what it might be, I can't turn it off until it's finished. All sports equate to the same thing for me, competition, heat of the battle, I'll watch sychronised swimming if it's on but I probably prefer Basketball, Football, Tennis, Ice Hockey, Boxing, Rugby, Cricket, Golf and Darts. I don't really care if I'm honest, if it's sport I will watch it. I might watch a lot of sport but it's literally a drop in the ocean compared to how much time I spend watching films. I'll watch any film, regardless of quality, in fact I like the bad ones every bit as much as I like the good ones. The last film I watched was last night, it was called 'The Clinic', It was absolute pure and total garbage, I quite enjoyed it. Empty characters, most of them with breasts (although not all them real) running around trying to find the babies that have been stolen out of their stomachs while they slept, does it sound absurd? It ran for around an hour driven by the kind of cliches that horror films pride themselves on and then they threw a retard into the mix. I don't want to spoil anything for anyone who might want to watch this thing but I think the moral of the story is that if you meet a mentally handicapped individual you should probably give him some candy, there is no telling when you might begin to reap the benefits of such a generous act.
I actually read a few peoples blogs prior to setting this thing up and I was quite simply stunned by the amount of people following some of the most inane shit that I have ever read in my life. My greatest theory is that complication truly does get in the way of entertainment. It's what made 'Seinfeld' great isn't it? If you have the characters then why bother with plot? Why bother complicating something that in it's simplest form is so entertaining. Time and again films are ruined by plot taking preference over characterisation, books too, all my favourite pieces of literature barely have a plot but they all have a central character that I love.
